Kids punk band Riot Baby and soulful disco-jazz band Squid Nebula open the first of the Family Jams series in the City of Moreland bringing the best of Melbourne’s diverse, original live music scene to kids aged 0-10 and their elders.
Riot Baby is a punk band for kids. They make fast and loud music for little people, and the big people that take them to gigs. A mum, two dads, a couple of pre-teens, and an occasional stage-crashing
pre-schooler.
Squid Nebula is a collaborative ensemble pairing disco groove, psychedelic textures and jazz-infused harmony, coming together to create a live experience that is equal parts mesmerising, affirming and joyous. Mainstays of Narrm’s soul and disco scenes, Squid Nebula are fronted by hypnotic soul artist and proud Noongar woman Bumpy and boast members from all corners of Narrm’s tight knit music community including members of Quality Used Cars, Bailey Judd, Bohjass and Millar Jukes and the Muscle.
